I've tried playing DVD movies on several machines with the latest Apple DVD software, but it seems I cannot get rid of horizontal stripes during (high) movement. When there's no or little movement the picture is OK. Does anybody know a solution to this?

This is normal, it's actually just Apple's DVD decoder trying to emulate a TV's positive and negative fields. It happens on TVs, although it's harder to see because they have a low resoluton and you generally don't sit as close to them as you do computer screens. You might be able to stop field blurring by using a DVD extractor to make an MPEG, but I'm not sure.

This usualy happens (in my experience) when your resolution isn't set proberly. Usualy the higher the resolution, the more blurring there is. It is best to use 760x480 (someting along those lines) being wider than it is vertical. I don't think my numbers are correct, but it's the idea. hope this helps
