I recently bought a used PowerBase (with G3 upgrade, 80Megs) that has OS 9.04 installed. I want to use this as my everyday computer, but all the system settings that I like are on another Power machine running 8.6. How do I transfer the goodies with 8.6 to the 9.04 machine?

Should I keep 9.04? If not, how do I down-grade to 8.6?

Thanks.

You could try copying the Preferences folder across, but that could be a little dangerous. Various prefs internal formats might have changed, and you could have some fun debugging which prefs files are creating problems. Or you might not, I have not tried this.

Safest way it to manually set all the stuff the way you like it to be.
