my friend has an (ancient) 8100...scsi port & all.
she wants to get data from that to her (pismo) G3 powerbook (firewire, usb).

can i do this go directly from the 8100 to the powerbook, and what do we need? (cable, software?)

thanx in advance!

Try a crossover cable between the ethernet ports (the 8100 should have one). Turn on File Sharing, create a new user on each computer and use AppleShare in the chooser the select the other computer and transfer away. Then let me know if it works, since that is real similar to what I want to do between two computers, one formatted in HFS and the other in HFS+. Crossover cables are cheap, too (around $10.00). Be sure to get a crossover cable, not a straight cable. A crossover is the right thing to connect two computers together.

actually...what we did is simply copy everything to her zip drive, then...kinko's, to burn the zips to cd.
