I need to get in contact with any one who knows about Apple Network Servers. I got a dead one and want to get it going.

Brent,

as to hardware, the Network server is pretty similar to the Power Mac 7600, such as PPC 604 132 MHz, SCSI hard disk and CD-ROM, ADB bus, AAUI ethernet using a transceiver for either BNC or 10BaseT media.

Maybe you could try to boot with an original Mac OS CD from a 7600 or 7300 (i.e., something like 7.5.5) just to get a chance to diagnose the hardware?

Of course, I am aware of the Network servers running AIX usually, not any version of Mac OS. Also, there might be a special ROM on the motherboard that makes booting from a Mac OS CD impossible.

there is some information about the Network servers, including the following note:

"the Network Servers were huge machines and designed to compete with IBM or Sun servers. They ran UNIX, Linux and the MacOS. They shipped with huge storage capabilities (DAT drive, 8mm drive, 6 HDs) and they could be equipped with upto 512 MB RAM."
