I got that "DVD Player can't find the software it needs, maybe you should reinstall DVD 2.2" after upgrading to 9.1 and playing around with extension. I know there is often another way to fix these, but after playing around, I thought it might be easier to reinstall.

But, when I went to install the downloaded DVD Player, I was told that it couldn't be done on a disc that did not contain OS 9.0.1 or higher, even though 9.1 was installed on the disc in question.

What's the deal? I fixed my problem by simply swapping Extensions Folders with another volume, but I am curious about this issue.

Thanks,
Storyboy

You need DVD Player 2.3 which comes with the FULL CD version of 9.1
Pretty dumb on Apples part not including it with the download
Someone here found a copy somewhere... anyone know where that is?

I discovered that if you don't have a radeon card, sometimes the ATI Radeon extension can interfere with the DVD player. Just remove it (If you don't have a radeon card, you don't need it at all), and everything should work fine.
