I agree. This is very cool of Apple to do. Hopefully they'll update it to support my drive (Sony CRX120E) pretty soon.

Has anyone gotten this to work with external SCSI drives? I have the Yamaha CRW6416, which is supported in Disc Burner 1.0.1, but mine's the SCSI variant, not USB or Firewire. So far I still can't get mine to do anything but say "Insert blank media to begin." And no, I'm not running any third-party CD-RW extensions like Toast.

It's cool if you don't own Toast, otherwise it's just one more way to burn CDs.

I have a Yamaha SCSI external too (CRW4416). The mechanism is listed as compatible but I haven't had any luck getting it to work. I've tried just about everything. At least I know I'm not alone.

My SCSI LaCie CDBP-121032S isn't working either. It's connected to Apple's SCSI PCI card in my Dual 450 G4. Toast still seems to work, even with all the new apple extensions for burning active. The finder seems like it may be running slower with a CD-R in the writer, though it doesn't show up on the desktop like it's supposed to. The writer occasionally spins up like it's reading the disk, but nothing ever comes of it.
Looks like there's a problem with SCSI drives and Disk Burner.

I have an internal Yamaha CRW4416 (SCSI-3) in my Rev.A Platinum G3 and have gotten the same message: "This program is incompatible with your computer."
(Of course, iTunes burns just fine, but I can't erase my RWs with iTunes!)
