Mac OS 9.2 nears Golden Master Rumor
Numerous developer reports indicate that the Mac OS 9.2 project, code- name Moonlight, is nearly complete. The fourth Final Candidate is presently in the works at Apple, and sources in Cupertino believe there
will probably only be one more build before a Golden Master is
declared, and the operating system is sent to Apple's CD production
facilities for printing and distribution. An update will also be
available for download on the Web for all Mac users (including
thoserunning 9.1 under Mac OS X through Classic); both versions are
expected to be available in the second or third week of June.
As previously reported, Moonlight includes a large number of bug fixes
and small behind-the-scenes improvements, updating a large majority of
the system components. Also included are CarbonLib 1.3, several updates
to Classic functionality (most notably improving Cut and Paste support
between Classic and OS X-native applications), updated ATi and nVIDIA
graphics card drivers, and dozens of third-party CD-RW drivers.
What do you think? Do we even need an update?

We ALWAYS need an update! Better....faster....stronger...more stable, these are the goals of Apple for OS 9!
On a more serious note, there is already a thread on this topic:

I'm most interested in the ATi driver update. I'd like to be running 9.1 but it makes 4x4 Evo unplayable due to low frame rates. It runs great under 9.0.4. Much agreed overclockedhomosapien, things can always be better.

I would think that they would release this at MWNY, but I guess you never know...

Hi,
Can we know whether the OS X pack would include OS 9.2 instead of 9.1 after released?

My Guess (IMHO) is yes, that it would include OS 9.2... If OS 9.2 is shipping on the machines, and Apple is committed to the current support of and gradual phasing in of OS X (via dual boot), it would seem to make sense that they would start shipping OS X commercial with 9.2 instead of 9.1.... I guess time will tell...

With July getting nearer I'd be surprised to see it before MWNY, prob bundled with 10.1 or quietly released like 9.1 was.
