Can't QT 6 play AAC? Cause my Quicktime 6 on OS 9.2.2 doesn't seem to have any problems with it...

update your quicktime and make sure all its components get installed with the custom install.

Quicktime is okay....
but i was thinking of more of a jukebox application w/ playlists and library and all that
doesnt itunes use quicktime to play aac?
is it just that quicktime hasnt been updated to 6.2 on os9 that itunes2 cant play an aac file?
i wonder if there is any chance that apple will update quicktime for os9 anymore
apple still does develop some of their bigger multimedia apps for os9 so updates to quicktime would still be logical and possibly neccesary

Is there a way to play AAC on Mac OS 9? My QuickTime software (6.0.3) will not allow an AAC file to be dropped onto the player. The file also does not appear in the Open dialog. Do I need to do some ResEdit twiddling?

What kind of container is it? .mov or .mp4? Considering that it won't let you drag-and-drop it on the player indicates that the Type code is wrong. Do a "Get file/folder info" on the file with Resedit and change the Type code to either "MooV" if it's a .mov or "mpg4" if it's a .mp4.
